I'd like to do a full lj-cut worthy update of what i've been doing over the past month or so.. Sweden, my degree show, moving home.. But I've been so busy doing said things I haven't had time. Once I cozy down into my new little room (which the Magical Davina is letting me stay in for a spell) I will do a nice big update. But for now...

My current project. It will be a comic I'll pitch for the Gay Times and possibly others....

On that note, the Pride parade went on in drizzly London today and I got to run about in it a little before work. There is ALWAYS a drag queen with a dress made entirely of multicoloured sponges! It's a law!

I love love love love love love love Prince Charles. I wish i could be his friend.

Soft Furnishings V2.0

  • Mar. 16th, 2007 at 1:50 PM
Sodomy

This is Cortlandt Manor Band's rival, Soft Furnishings, who they go up against in Battle of the Bands. While Corlandt Manor uses almost no songs with drums, and lots of strings and romanticism (a la the Irrepressibles), Soft Furnishings uses synths and have a heavier sound. (more like Roxy Music meets Dethklok)

Left to Right:
Trafalgar Square (vocals + guitar)
Soho Square (drums)
Belgrave Square (synths)
Russel Square (vocals + maybe another guitar)

Yes, I intentionally gave themost masculine sounding name to the one who's definately a girl. They actually are meant to be personified illustrations of the squares in town.. accepting possibly Trafalgar, who should really be dressed as Nelson, or at least be wearing a lion pelt. David suggested they be called The Squares, but I thought that was too gimmicky, and I absolutely LOVE the name Soft Furnishings. They don't look like the original Soft Furnishings at all, (in fact I think only the Alison-type one survived) because Viv is already there and having two incredibly tall dapper lesbians in one comic would be a bit much, and the Nicky one would have been too similar to Marius, and the Me one would be.. well... too much of an insert. I still don't know whether Trafalgar is a woman or not. Would be interesting either way.
Their record company? Seven Dials.

My First Comic Publication

  • Mar. 12th, 2007 at 11:38 PM

Hey ho. Just for people who might be wondering... My I, Castrato comic is in a nifty anthology called Side A, published by Poseur Ink. You can order it here

http://www.poseurink.com/comicbooks.php

And apparently it might be in Hot Topic stores in the USA? If anyone can verify, please let me know! This is exciting to me, especially since I used to work there (and was much beloved). So please go to your local Hot Topic and see if my comic is there... and if not.. ask them how come?

It Updated!!

  • Feb. 11th, 2006 at 2:57 PM

It updated, and I didn't even have to DO anything! Wao!

The first official installment of My Life in Blue 2.0 Will this mark the beginning of a new era of regular updates? Only time will tell.

Commentary:
1. For those a bit lost, Marius is at college now (he left early). I originally was going to make the change between Classic and 2.0 more blatant and official, but I think it will be nice just to soak into the latter.
2. Imaginary the Crow returns.
3. Jamie has gone through some major character evolutions since I first created him.. I think I like him now. He still dresses like a thrift store blew up on him.

(I double posted this on mlib and on tzarohell for my records.. will not do it again, promise)

Now to finish up that dang Didi comic.. *looks at icon* Yeah, I see you.

So. I now have a damaged copy of the Half Blood Prince that my mum brought home from the bookstore. We can't sell those. It's the most fucked up damaged book I've ever seen.. there's weird stuck-and-glued pages.. slices taken out.. and even a factory sticker of some kind on two of the pages that were there BEFORE the paper went through the printing press. Weird ass. but still entirely readable.

Nino Snippet

  • Apr. 13th, 2005 at 7:22 PM

Today I met someone who knew who the *real* Nino Rota was! Which is awesome. Great name for a tribute musically-enclined fictional character.
And on that note,
Another Nino Panel.. his hair is gettin gbigger and bigger... )

Picture from the Carnival comic

  • Apr. 4th, 2005 at 2:02 AM

I need to get this thing off its feet. But I *really* like Nino's story.. it's so different from Didi's! No dead bodies! No ghosts! No vampires!

I need another name for it besides "Carnival." I'm thinking "Ministry of Human Oddities," "The Novelties," Something like that to wrap it all up that also sounds good. (Obviously very difficult for me.. lol) but that chapters will be named after the oddity profession of the character it's about so Chapter One = Dhampir, Chapter 2 = Castrato, etc etc.

Starting Chapter Two before finishing Chapter One.. Tisk, Tisk. )

Here's an Achilles to add to the ever expending pool of Zan's Achilles Art...
Achilles Prays to His Father for Patroklos's Victory )

And an Iddy/Cortlandt Manor comic (the first time they've appeared in one!!!
Cortlandt Manor Band's Studio Time )

Wish I'd gotten some more feedback on that story.. but what can I expect? It is an erotic escapade that hasn't gotten to the sex yet! When it's finished i'll just post the whole thing. Maybe with an illustration or two to make it look better.
Should probably post that iddy comic to the MLiB community to keep the masses faithful...
